3D product model of a cherry cola can, created as a self-guided project to practice hard surface modeling and branding. This self-guided project features a high-resolution 3D model of a soda can created to practice hard surface modeling and product design. I built the can in Maya, designed the label layout in Photoshop, and applied textures using Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
The label features a pirate face clip art as a central element, but I handled all layout, type placement, and design decisions. Red was used as the main color to match the cherry flavor, with black and white added for contrast and branding. I stretched the can slightly to give it a more modern shape and styled the label to draw attention to the brand name and flavor.
For texturing, I used base color, normal, metallic, and roughness maps to give the can a realistic surface with smooth reflections and accurate material definition. I followed best practices for file types, UV layout, and lighting setup to make sure the model looked clean and professional in all views.
Along with still images, my portfolio includes a short animation showing the can rotating and the tab opening. This helps present the model as a complete product concept and shows how it could be used in motion graphics or advertising.
