Pasta Amore – Branding and Print Design
Software Used: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Project Type: Logo, Menu, and Table Tent Design
Pasta Amore is a branding project for a mock Italian restaurant. I created a full set of print materials, including a trifold menu, a two-page menu, and a table tent. The goal was to design a brand that felt classic and family-friendly while keeping the layout clean and easy to read.
I used Illustrator to build the layout and vector elements, Photoshop to edit and improve food photos, and InDesign to arrange the final files for print. All designs were made using CMYK color mode, with proper margins, bleed, and 300 DPI resolution for sharp, professional results. I followed branding guidelines by using a red and green color scheme with Goudy Old Style for the main typeface. To balance the strong colors, I added beige for the text and used a dark, swirled background to give it a warm, classic tone.
Each menu layout used clear hierarchy. Section titles were bold, and subcategories were lighter or underlined to guide the reader’s eye. I added a green border around the trifold and arranged each section for easy scanning. The table tent design originally had a busy background, but after reviewing feedback, I replaced it with a red and black gradient that faded toward the center. I also rounded the green border’s corners and replaced pixelated images with higher quality ones. Shadows and color changes were used to improve readability in the call-to-action text.
For the two-page menu, I changed the background and switched the text to white for better contrast. I also adjusted the spacing and layout to improve flow. The trifold design kept its original structure but was updated with better background images and new mockups to present it more clearly.
This project shows my ability to:
- Build a full branding set for a print-based restaurant campaign
- Work with typography, color, and layout to match a traditional brand style
- Use Photoshop to clean up images and improve visual quality
- Apply feedback to improve design and maintain brand consistency
Pasta Amore reflects my skills in print design, layout, and brand development for real-world applications.
